We recommend reading about Ventile fabric before making such an expensive purchase. It's a lot of money to pay for a coat but we are keen to demonstrate that you really do get what you pay for when choosing a well-made and British made artisan product from the best outerwear cotton in the world. Here is their website, www.ventile.co.uk.
From a makers point of view, we work with many of the best cottons in the world, and the way this fabric lays and cuts and drapes in a garment, is unparalleled in its superb quality. we use two layers of it to make this coat, the outer and the lining, and if you so happen to want to be outside in the rain for as much as eight hours, this will keep you dry, naturally, with no artificial plastic barrier or membrane as they call them. Being naturally breathable it is also wonderfully comfortable.
We offer the coat in two lengths as you will see at checkout. The traditional Mac length is finishing Midcalf, but this can be tailored to your liking. The shorter one is what used to always be known as a car coat length, finishing just above the knee. both have a nice single vent in the back.
Each coat comes with. Two internal zipped pockets. (one is vertical for a phone), on the other side is a buttoned internal pocket.
The Coat in the picture is Antique Bronze. (we think a strange name from Ventile for this colour, but maybe bronze is different in Switzerland!)
ps (please ask if you would like the optional button out lining option. We offer in Loden wool which adds £350 ($460) or pure goosedown £500 ($650)
